Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a doula, and how is it different from a midwife?

A doula offers emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth — but does not provide medical care. A midwife is a medical professional trained to oversee the clinical aspects of pregnancy and birth. I work alongside midwives and doctors to help you feel safe, informed, and supported every step of the way.

2. Where do you offer your services?

Most of my work happens where mothers need it most — in their homes. I work primarily in Copenhagen and surrounding areas. I also have a cozy space in Frederiksberg (Behandlerkollektivet) where I offer workshops and in-person sessions on Fridays. And for families outside the area or looking for flexibility, I offer online sessions too.

3. What kind of families do you support?

I support all kinds of families — across cultures, backgrounds, and identities. I specialize in working with bilingual, multicultural, and international mothers navigating birth and postpartum in Denmark. My care is inclusive, trauma-informed, and tailored to your rhythm, your values, and your story. 💛 All bodies, all stories, all kinds of motherhood are welcome here.

4. What kind of training do you have?

My path blends formal, evidence-based education with the wisdom of traditional care. I’m certified through programs accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and I’ve completed over 90 hours of lactation-specific education — the standard required to pursue IBCLC certification (though I am not a registered IBCLC). I also meet the Danish requirement of over 600 hours of professional education for alternative therapists and hold a background in microbiology with a special focus on the vaginal microbiome — a foundation that deeply informs my understanding of women’s health. Alongside this scientific training, I’ve studied directly with traditional Mexican midwives, learning ancestral, holistic approaches to supporting women physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My work brings together science and tradition — offering grounded, respectful care that honors the whole woman. I’m also continuously expanding my knowledge through ongoing education to ensure I support women holistically, responsibly, and safely.

5. What languages do you speak?

I speak Spanish and English fluently. I also understand and can communicate in Danish, though I prefer to work in English for clarity and depth. My materials are available in multiple languages to make sure every family feels included.

6. How can I work with you?

You can book one-on-one support, join a workshop, or explore my holistic offerings. Some families reach out for birth preparation, others for postpartum healing, breastfeeding support, or emotional guidance. We’ll start with a short call or message to find what fits your needs best. 🌿 You’re always welcome to contact me — no pressure, just connection.

7. What is like to work with you?

My clients often say they feel safe, heard, and deeply supported. I bring a calm presence, clear communication, and genuine care. Whether I’m helping you breathe through a contraction, process a difficult experience, or simply rest while I hold your baby — I’m there with my full heart. ✨ This isn’t just a service — it’s a relationship built on trust and care.
